I'm South African, currently living in a small town on the south-eastern coast of the Indian Ocean. The internet speed is slow, and electricity and water are intermittent.
My Barbie dolls were magic-wielding Amazons who communicated telepathically with everything and everyone around them, and performed amazing gymnastic feats among the trees.
While I was growing up my parents were studying Rosicrucianism so I learnt about metaphysical concepts, spiritual development, meditation and sacred ritual as a child. I started my spiritual practice in earnest at age 14.
A native sangoma (traditional healer) taught me how to play a Zulu drum on the east coast in a tree-covered valley at the base of the Drakensberg which means "dragon mountains" in English.
